Last November 8th, 2019, the Project LIFE-2-ACID was present in the Science Week organized by the University of Cantabria (UC), one of the most important scientific events of the year in Europe.
About 80 students from different schools (Colegio Jardín de África, IES Menéndez Pelayo and Augusto G. Linares) could visit the UC laboratories and know more about the LIFE-2-ACID project. In this visit, the students could make an experiment of extraction and back-extraction of zinc from spent pickling acids and besides, the reduction of zinc from aqueous to solid phase by electrowinning. Furthermore, they become aware of the circular economy concept.
Next Friday, 15 November, about 75 students from more schools will visit the UC laboratories to repeat the experience whose feedback is being very positive.
