LIFE2ACID Project has been presented in the 13th European Congress of Chemical Engineering and 6th European Congress of Applied Biotechnology, which is taking place on 20-23 September. The University of Cantabria participated with an oral communication entitled “Materials circularity from spent pickling acids” in the session “Sustainable production, low carbon & circular (bio)economy, clean water” last Monday 20th September.
The European chemical engineering community meets at the joint ECCE/ECAB meeting every two years. This edition is being held in a virtual venue due to the pandemic situation with more than 3000 participants. The work presented at ECCE/ECAB 2021 compares the environmental impacts and resource use of conventional treatment of spent pickling acids with the innovative solution proposed by the project consisting of non-dispersive solvent extraction (NDSX) and electrodeposition (EW).
